Today is the 29th of February, how rare is this day which occurs once in every 4 years. I have to blog today to have a 29th of February post, hah.
Life is great, ignoring the fact that I have dozens of tutorials left undone, a million chapters of notes to read and understand, and lots of weight to lose :/ All the midnight snacking, daily supply of bubbletea, triple servings of carbohydrates and supper before sleep resulted in the gain in 5kg.
Still, life is great, because I have them :]

Headed back to st nicks and met up with my good old friends. ahh how I miss them so. Really wished time didn't fly, but I think I've learnt to move on, though I still want to turn the clock back.

It's not that I don't want to have a good studying attitude, but I just cannot cannot bring myself to do homework nor read my notes nor pay attention during lectures or tutorials. Its like this defiant being in me, taking over my mind insidiously. At least last year I knew what was going on in the curriculum, but this year, I'm totally clueless on everything. I spend my life doing nothing but rotting away.
To make matters worse, my lent obligations are totally being ignored. Somehow my self-discipline level has dropped to a sheer 0. Now I don't even have the discipline to push myself to run for pe ! Back in sn, running 3 rounds was not a problem, now running 1 round is like living hell.
Enid, Enid, stop being obstinate and start acting like an NJ student !
I'm really thankful for Jasmine for always persuading me to pay attention during classes ! Yay I've got good influence.
We've got new classmates in our class :) And we're going to be such a bonded class awww.
Road run day was fun :) Not the run itself, but after the run. I still wished the whole class was there. Juno was quite a good show (but apparently, the others don't seem to share the same sentiments) and it did hit me that I cannot cannot cannot succumb to temptations no matter how satisfying it might be.
I haven't been camwhoring these days, its an ostensible achievement :]

Being posted to NJC is such a joy. Now, I officially get to spend 2 years with my wonderful wonderful class :) PAE 08S10 !!! I love youuuuu :D
However, every happiness comes with a price to pay, friends whom I know are leaving nj. I miss them already. Yet I know, these friendships will always remain, and they will do very well in future !

I happened to stumble upon Steve Palina's blog and he actually put down a statement which I so strongly disagree !
"Passion is nonessential for success.
Self-discipline allows you take action and therefore get results no matter what your emotional state."
I definitely deplore this preposterous stand. Passion is what drives us to be self-disciplined. Passion is the fuel we rely on to work towards our dream. This dream, is in fact, our passion.
So how can we say self-discipline alone leads us to success ? That self-discipline overcomes all emotional barriers ? And in this case, what do we consider as success ?
Success is relative. Different people consider different situations as success, and hence is entirely dependent on every individual cognition. How do we judge whether we have been successful ?
It is when we have achieved our dreams, when we have reached a point in life when we are happy with what we've accomplished. Our passion, this is what we want, what we desire. This is the panacea to living a life void of dissatisfaction.
Passion is definitely needed for success. Self-discipline however, is also necessary to keep us working towards our passion.

Sad to say, I don't even have the least bit of self-discipline in me at this point.

The 6 of us went down to town yesterday (it was suppose to be a class outing, but something happened and in the end it was only us) and headed down to j8 to eat sakae. Even though I was very pissed with my mother, their company helped me forget it. It was a day well spent :]
So valentine's day has arrived, unlike previous years when I spent valentines day in st nicks, this year was different. I am very sure all those from a single-sex school would share the same sentiments as me. Ravenous me, spent physics lecture picnic-ing in the lecture hall, munching on all the goodies !
Valentine's day, as we all know, falls on the same day as International Friendship Day. We commemorate 14 Feb with our dearests, sharing the joy and love. Of course, this is also a period for shops to scam consumers as the demand for valentine's day products increases (and hence causes a shift in the demand curve. OMG ?!?!?!) and the price of every good rises as well ( resulting in a movement up the demand curve !!!). So you can expect a hole in my pocket now.
Receiving gifts or giving out gifts should not be the main thing about valentine's day. For me, I think it is showing our appreciation for all that our loved ones has done. Well, you might argue that you can actually show your gratitude on any day you wish, but this day just makes it even more special don't you think ? It's really heart-warming to see everyone treasuring each other's company.
And you know what, every single one of you out there, you who are my friend, you are so very special to me. I thank you for this very friendship we hold, and I wouldn't trade you for the world. True friendships and camraderie, being there and overcoming what life brings us through. These friendships will take me through A levels, and I'm glad I've met wonderful company here :)

Chinese New Year. A festive season filled with auspicious decorations and vibrancy. The spirit shared among all chinese instills pride in our long history and traditional culture.
